An evening of Celebration as Glasgow West Business Club starts its Second year
We have 2 inspiring entrepreneurs Charan Gill and John Anderson speaking about their business journeys, what they have learnt, experiences they have had and how they are dealing with the current economic climate.
Charan Gill arrived in Glasgow in 1963, aged 9, left school in 1969 at the age of 16 and took a job at Yarrow’s Shipyard. In 1974 a chance encounter with an old friend, who ran the Ashoka Indian restaurant on Glasgow’s Argyle Street, changed the course of his life. With hard work and determination he grew the business and finally sold the Harlequin Group of restaurants in 2005 for £8 million. Some would think in this economic climate opening another restaurant would be risky but for Charan Gill it was a business opportunity and another challenge.
John Anderson, is a well known specialist in entrepreneurship and new venture creation in Scotland, John brings considerable experience of emerging and high growth companies to his role as Chief Executive of The Entrepreneurial Exchange. John is also an Honorary Senior Lecturer at the Hunter Centre for Entrepreneurship at the University of Strathclyde, a founding Global Scot member, and sits on the board for the Scottish Programme for Entrepreneurship.
This will be an inspiring event. Do come and join us.
